The country’s largest SUV manufacturer, Mahindra, recently unveiled one of its most extreme concepts – the Scorpio-N-based Global Pik Up off-roader – at its annual Independence Day event. This year’s event took place in South Africa. The all-new concept vehicle is a freshly developed Mahindra Pik Up, based on the new Mahindra Scorpio-N. It incorporates a myriad of changes that significantly enhance its off-road capabilities.
The company also released a brand-new teaser for the Global Pik Up, showcasing the off-road specific SUV effortlessly navigating uncharted terrains in an animated video. The video provides an intricate view of the concept vehicle, and when compared to the real concept pictures, it becomes evident that the model boasts a substantially more aggressive design than its base, the Mahindra Scorpio-N.

According to the company, the new Global Pik Up was designed at the Mahindra India Design Studio (MIDS). The 2025 Global Pik Up draws inspiration from the Scorpio-N model, with observable similarities such as the headlight, bonnet, fenders, and front doors. However, the model has undergone remarkable design modifications, taking this SUV to a whole new level.
The Mahindra Global Pik Up showcases a bold front bumper with a prominent bash-plate and strategically placed tow hooks. The front grille, characterized by its aggressive stance, stands out, reinforcing the pickup’s rugged design. Enhancing its off-road capabilities, the Global Pik Up features a dedicated water wading snorkel.
Transitioning to the side profile of the Scorpio-N based Global Pik Up, the theme of robustness persists. While the side profile shares similarities with the Scorpio-N, it’s evident that the design has been extensively revamped. It boasts two sturdy step ladders and considerably thicker black cladding. The distinct dual-cab design showcases a load bed with a distinctive lying buttress design. The standard Mahindra Scorpio-N wheelbase has been extended to accommodate the new loading area.
At the rear, the Pik Up features a compact tailgate bearing the embossed Mahindra moniker. The lower bumper appears to be metal-finished, adorned with two distinct tow hooks on either side of the number plate. Newly designed all-LED taillights complete the rear design.
Beneath its robust exterior, the Global Pik Up incorporates a ‘next-generation ladder-frame’ platform meticulously engineered to excel in both Global NCAP and Euro NCAP safety assessments. The model is anticipated to feature new Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) features, connectivity options, and a pivotal sunroof, alongside an entirely redesigned interior.
Regarding powertrain options, Mahindra states that the model will be equipped with a Gen-II all-aluminum mHawk diesel engine upon launch. This powertrain will be paired with either a 6-speed manual or an Aisin-sourced 6-speed automatic transmission, delivering a blend of power and efficiency. Exact performance figures are yet to be disclosed by the brand. Additionally, the model will offer 4WD and shift-on-the-fly capability.
